Jack Who Works the Beanstalk cover

September is almost over, so time for another Story of the Month!

This month you can read "Jack Who Works the Beanstalk" for free (but just for the next week).

This is a YA, sci-fi story with a bit of grit. Here's the blurb:

Modern master of multiple genres, Robert J. McCarter captivates readers with stories featuring immersive settings, relatable characters, and engaging plots.

Twelve-year-old Jack does what it takes to stay alive, including working the beanstalk terminal on Mars. But when desperation makes him take a client who offers him more money than he asks for to go into the Maze—a lawless warren of narrow twisting streets and alleys—everything changes.

What does this mysterious client really want? Will Jack's gamble on this strange man pay off?

Don't miss this futuristic, cyberpunk-tinged reimagining of Jack and the Beanstalk.
